changes of total grain-crop production (1985-1994)

This map mainly describes the situation of the grain-crop in the 80s-90s. I choose this one because I am pretty familiar with it. As I am an international student from China, I know that China used to be a big agriculture country, so crop was one of the most important resources in China. This map shows that there are 2 main areas which product lots of crops. The first place is the northeastern part. That place is Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Shenyang. In those area, crops like rice, corn and bean, can grow really well in order to fulfill the need of people. The second area is the eastern part. In those areas like Henan, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, paddy rice is more common. One of the important reasons is that the weather in the east part is the more comfortable for crops. There is appropriate rain and shining sun. So, in that circumstance, the property of the crop is better than other areas.

This map shows the earthquake intensity of the world. I was curious about it because earthquake was a really big issue. First, China has an earthquake a few years before, which has made so many people die and so many people lose their family and their home. Second, the place I live, LA, was just at the red part, which means there is more potential for earthquake. On the map, it, from the other side, shows the main continents in the world. At the boarders of different continent, earthquake happened frequently due to the continent swift. The parts that is blue means they probably won’t have earthquakes.

I choose this map because I really care about the health issues. I have being financially supporting a kid in Chili since last year. He was just the survival of the earthquake in Chili. They need foods and living supplies. The picture shows that most of the AIDS patients are in African. What they need is the right precautionary measure and to learn to live far away from the disease. The picture shows that except Africa, south Asian and North America come to the most. AIDS is one of the most serious issues of the world these days. We have to fight against it. Although there is actually no cure for it, at least we can get more time for ourselves. We should change the situation and help people get out of the suffers.
